God’s Masterpiece

Updated: May 23, 2019

Welcome to Masterpiece UK, we are so glad that you are able to stop by and read our first blog. Welcome to the family.

Purpose. Purpose is something that many people look for, many people ask themselves.

“What is my purpose? Why was I ‘created’?”

I believe everyone has posed that question at some point in their life, or maybe you’re still asking the question. We all know what it says in Genesis, how God created the world and everything within it. How God created everyone in his image. But sometimes even knowing that is not enough at times. We still pose the question. When we look throughout the Bible, we see a pattern. A pattern of God using someone, who will either be ‘too young’, ‘too old’ or seen as ‘not worthy’ to be chosen and used by God. But every time God chooses someone, they fulfil what God needs them to do, even if God needs to contain them in a whale for a few days. (When Jonah refused to obey God, he ended up in a whale's stomach for three days. You can read about this in the book of Jonah.) Just like God used Moses to free the Israelites from Egypt. Each person God used from Abraham to Mary, God knew exactly what He was doing, and he saw their hearts.

God created each and every one of us. In Ephesians 2:10 it says, “for we are God's Masterpiece”.

Do you know the definition of a masterpiece?

The dictionary definition is; A work of outstanding artistry, skill, or workmanship.

How powerful! This confirms that we are made with purpose, we are made with intent. We are not here by mistake, but we are made anew in Christ Jesus.

This is encouraging because we are all assigned a mission for what God wants us to fulfil!

We need to understand that we are a work of art in the making as God takes us through the process of removing our worldly desires and revives us with his holy spirit. We may not be building a huge ark but our purpose, whether it be in ministry or singing in the church, we are all called to bring people to God and worship him together. So, the next time you ask yourself that question, remember that You are God’s Masterpiece, specially designed to fulfil your calling
