Peace of Mind and Heart
"I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid." John 14:27
Happy New Month! It's officially April and we are so excited to see what God is going to do this month! As you know, every month we explore a new theme so for this month, we are looking at Peace!
With everything that is going on around the world right now with this pandemic and the media, many of us feel overwhelmed. Overwhelmed with fear, anxiety, information, there is a a lot to digest, but I am here today to remind you of the gift Jesus gave you. Jesus gave you a gift before he resurrected. He gave us all a gift that the world cannot provide, something we all need and search for. And that is the gift of Peace.
Peace from heaven, peace from God himself. Nothing beats this, nothing can compare to Gods peace. In John 14:27, Jesus says himself that he is giving us the gift of peace of mind AND heart. Sometimes your heart is at peace but your mind is racing nonstop. Or sometimes your mind is at peace but your heart is just aching. But Jesus said he has given you peace for both! So you can be filled with peace and not anxiousness.
Especially in a time like this, we need to claim that peace that Jesus gave us! You are entitled to it as a Child of God, A Follower of Christ! Today you need to use the authority you have in Jesus and speak peace over your life! The Bible tells us in Phillipians 4:6-7..
Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience Gods peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Is God not faithful! Is he not awesome! Just as Jesus said, Gods peace is the greatest. It puts your MIND AND HEART at peace. This is why the devil doesn't rest, he is on a mission to make sure you don't claim that peace. He knows how powerful the peace of God is, when you have the peace of God, you don't worry! Your mind and heart is at rest and whatever the enemy plans won't shake you because with peace come trust. When you have peace form heaven, you trust God has everything in his hands (which he does), so the enemy can not take that from you.
So as you are reading this, I encourage you to claim that peace today, speak it over your life. Tell God what you need, thank him for what he has done. Even thank him for what he is going to do! And trust God, then you will experience his peace, even during this pandemic. God has not left you, he has not abandoned you, He is just waiting for you to lean on him and trust him.
