Rebuke the trap of Comparison!

Hi Masterpiece family! Happy March, hope you're well.

For the month of March, we are exploring the theme of comparison.

Comparison: to examine (two or more objects, ideas, people, etc.) in order to note similarities and differences:to compare two pieces of cloth; to compare the governments of two nations.

Living in this day and age where we have so much access to other peoples 'lives' makes it difficult to not fall in the trap of comparison. We only get to see the highlights, the happy days, the success. We do not see the prayers behind the scenes, the hard work, the amount of fails. I am not saying this to discourage you, but instead to encourage you!

God made us all individually, in HIS image he created us. That alone speaks volumes because we are not made my mistake, we were all made intentionally.

One of my favourite Bible verses is 1 Corinthians 12:15-20

15 Suppose the foot says, “I am not a hand. So I don’t belong to the body.” By saying this, it cannot stop being part of the body. 16 And suppose the ear says, “I am not an eye. So I don’t belong to the body.” By saying this, it cannot stop being part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, how could it hear? If the whole body were an ear, how could it smell? 18 God has placed each part in the body just as he wanted it to be. 19 If all the parts were the same, how could there be a body? 20 As it is, there are many parts. But there is only one body.

What we can take away from this verse is, every one of us are part of The Body of Christ, we're all part of Gods people. We are all called to worship, praise and work for God but we all have different talents/gifts which God has placed upon each and every one of us for a reason. Just as you wouldn't compare an eye to an ear, as they have different functions, you should not compare yourself to other people. Just because one sister is excelling in one area of her life faster than you doesn't mean you are unable to excel or that you don't belong in The Body of Christ. Verse 18 tells us that God has PLACED each part of the body just as HE WANTED it to be. This means, everything is intentional. It is above us, every thing is in Gods hands according to his will.

We also need to humble ourselves and our desires, and pray that Gods Will will prevail above our own. Also, pray that your desires match His will, and if they don't, pray he fills your desires with His will. When you compare yourself to someone, it is dangerous because you are essentially doubting and finding a flaw in the work of God. The devil uses comparison as a weapon to distract us and cause us to miss blessings and breakthroughs because we were to busy looking at our neighbours grass.

Lets NOT fall into the trap of the enemy!

I pray that you remain strong and faithful in God, trust in Him and HIS process.

Stay Blessed,
