The Greatest Love of All

Good Day Masterpiece family! Hope you are well. As you may have seen on our instagram and Twitter (@masterpieceuk_) our theme for the month of February is, Gods Love.

God's Love is something so special and pure, and I believe it to be the greatest love of all time. The love that God has for you is so great it cannot be contained. We see God's Love throughout the Bible, one of my favourite examples of God's never ending love is in the parable of the prodigal son. This was one of the many parables Jesus told, in this one, it was a demonstration of how God loves us so much. You can read this in Luke 15:11–32.

In the parable, the father represents God. The son that stays with the father represents christians that have always been in the church, always stayed close to God. The other son that leaves and gets lost represents the christians that slip away and get caught up in the world. When the son that left, returns, the father was so happy he held a celebration for him and welcomed him back with so much love. This is how much God loves us. God loves us all, whether you've slipped away or if you have been close to him the whole journey, he loves us all. When you return to God he is never bitter and angry, in fact heaven celebrates.

31 “‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’” Luke 15: 31-32.

You may have heard of the term "God the Father", this is because God is our heavenly father, he loves us like a father loves his child. Which is so beautiful. I didn't grow up with my biological father but when I gave my life to Christ and began to understand God's Love, I realised how God has never left me or abandoned me like my earthly father did. Instead he has been with me my whole life, so my perception of God changed, he literally became my father, I looked at God like he was my parent, because he is.

Once you understand the depth of God's love, you wouldn't care so much or have bitterness towards absent fathers or fake friends. God is all you need. He is the healer, counselor, comforter and lover. And when you acknowledge this, you will reflect that same love to the people around you.

So take a moment today to thank God for his unfailing love.

For his greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ, and for loving us even when we didn't love ourselves. He is not far away, he is right there, waiting for you to come back to him like the father in the parable of the prodigal son.

I pray God reveals his love to you and you experience God's love in your life.

In Jesus name,

Amen.
