Trust in your calling AND walk in it!

Hey Masterpiece family! Hope you are well!

During the month of September we have been exploring the book of Esther and learning so much from Queen Esther! Today we are going to look at what it means to trust and walk in your calling like Queen Esther did.

All of us have a calling. We all have a purpose, sometimes we have a misconteption that purpose only refers to a world changing event. For example, ending world hunger or inventing something or just being famous. When in reality our purpose could be to just fullfil something in one place, maybe to teach in a school in one area. Or to coach one person, who will then go on to do great. God will use you in any way if you let him, He can use anyone.

However, no matter how big or small you percieve your purpose, never undermine it. Your purpose is to glorify God, and He will use you for that in so many different ways.

Lets use Esther for example. Esther was a Jewish woman who grew up with her uncle. She was probably just a normal young woman, humbly living her life then one day her life changed forever. She found favour in the eyes of the king and became the Queen. However, she kept her identity (a Jew) a secret.

17 The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti. [Esther 2:17]
20 Now Esther had not revealed her family and her people, just as Mordecai had charged her, for Esther obeyed the command of Mordecai as when she was brought up by him. [Esther 2:20]

Now as Queen Esther is in the palace as the new queen, she still sees her uncle at the palace gates to stay in touch (as they didn't have telephones etc). One day she is informed that the kings right hand is plotting to kill her people because they refuse to bow down to his statue.

Esther then finds herself in a bit of a predicament. She must tell the king, but it is not that simple. You cannot just walk in to the presence of the king if you're not called for. So Esther is nervous and unsure but her uncle Mordecai says to her:

13 And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. 14 For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” [Esther 4: 13-14]

How powerful! Her uncle realised that it is not a coincidence that Esther was Jewish and Queen at that time. Esther then responded by saying 'alright, lets fast then I'll go to the King."

And that is the attitude we need to have.

When you are unsure, need guidance, seeking God... You need to take time and dwell in His presense and really seek Him, He WILL speak to you and reveal what you need to know.

So when you are walking in your purpose you need to understand that your purpose is according to the time you are in. God has placed you in a certain position at the perfect time for you to fullfil His will!

I encourage you today to hold on to what God has called you to do, hold on to His word. God will never fail.

Lord, I pray right now for everyone reading this, that you will reveal their purpose to them if they are unsure, that you will use them for your will, your divine plan. Lord I pray that you equip them with what they need and that they trust in YOU and nothing else. I praise Your Holy Name, In Jesus name we pray, AMEN!
